FAQs
How to prepare your quilt for quilting
Please ensure your three layers - quilt top, wadding and backing are supplied separately.
I will press your quilt top and backing before loading them onto the rollers so you don’t have to.
Make sure your seams are well secured and have been pressed to one side, and any lose threads have been sniped.
Embellishments such as beads, buttons and sequins should be added after quilting, unless you are having custom quilting and I can work around them.
Don’t forget to mark the quilt top if it is directional, and to add your contact details if you are posting your quilt to me.
Backing Fabric
I do not keep backing fabrics in stock so please supply your own and make sure it measures at least 3-4” larger than your quilt top in all directions.
If you have pieced the backing, please press the seam open.
Feel free to contact me if you need help working out how much backing fabric you need.
Wadding
Just like the backing fabric, if you’re supplying your own wadding it needs to be at least 3-4” larger than the quilt top.
I stock a few different types of wadding prices can be found here under ‘extras’.
